Description

1859 Seated Liberty Dime, MS67
Only One Numerically Finer Coin at PCGS

1859 10C MS67 PCGS. CAC. Fortin-107, R.3. The 1859 Seated Liberty dime claims a reasonable mintage of 429,200 pieces, yet examples in MS67 are quite rare and finer coins are virtually unobtainable. This magnificent Superb Gem displays sharp detail, with satiny mint luster and surfaces that show just a hint of pink toning. Scattered tiny, "as-made" die lumps are present, primarily near the left obverse rim, and a tiny spot appears to the left of Liberty's head. Die chips appear near stars 2 to 8 and stars 12 and 13. Population: 15 in 67 (1 in 67+), 1 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N1)
