Low-Mintage Key to the Series

1860-O 10C XF45 PCGS Secure. CAC. The mintage of the 1860-O was a low, low 40,000 pieces. Only 104 grading events have been recorded by both PCGS and NGC representing approximately 80 individual coins. Grades of 1860-O dimes are fairly evenly distributed from AG through AU55 with no significant quantity in any grade range. A mere seven pieces have been certified by both services in XF45. The surfaces of this piece are bright and covered with deep, variegated blue, gold, and violet toning. A shallow scratch is noted to the right of Liberty's head and there is evidence of planchet porosity on the center of the figure of Liberty.
