Description

1864 Seated Dime, Prooflike MS65
Rare This Fine

1864 10C F-102a, R.5, MS65 PCGS. The 1864 Seated dime is a better date in all grades with a small mintage of 11,000 coins. Mint State pieces are rare. This Gem example is boldly struck and brilliant, with fully prooflike fields and modest cameo contrast. Prooflike circulation strikes are not uncommon for this low-mintage issue, as both known die pairs were initially used to strike proofs. Population: 9 in 65 (1 in 65+), 5 finer (11/15).
