Description

Popular 1865 Ten Cent, MS66

1865 10C MS66 NGC. The skimpy mintage of the 1865 Seated dime--10,000 pieces--in this, the last year of the Civil War, makes this issue popular for both reasons. The present example is brilliant silver-white, with visible die polish lines in the fields on each side. A curious pair of short, arcing, raised die lines, on either side of the date, are mentioned for accuracy. Census: 6 in 66, 11 finer (7/07).(Registry values: N1)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 239P, PCGS# 4641, Greysheet# 4058)

Weight: 2.49 grams
