Description

1866 Dime, Patinated MS65
Rare in All Grades

1866 10C F-102b, R.6, MS65 NGC. A die dot at the low shield point and an up-sloping date identify the F-102 die pair and vertical die clashing below and above DIME confirms the late die state. This brilliant Gem displays prooflike obverse fields, although the reverse fields are only mildly reflective. The sharp strike weakens a bit at Liberty's head. All else is bold and the surfaces are essentially mark-free. NGC Census: 7 in 65, 9 finer (12/25).
