Description

1866 10C F-102b, R.6, XF45 PCGS Secure. Since fractional currency was abundant in 1866, and silver coin failed to circulate except in the far West, the Philadelphia Mint struck only 8,000 dimes for commerce that year. Collectors of the day purchased proofs, but business-strike survivors are rare in all grades. This is a moderately circulated but problem-free silver-gray and golden-brown example.
