Description

Prooflike 1867 Seated Dime, MS67

1867 10C MS67 PCGS Secure. CAC. At first glance this Superb Gem looks like a proof, but the presence of bold clash marks and slightly subdued fields will show that it is a more desirable business strike. Both sides have prooflike surfaces with cameo contrast beneath intense gold, lilac, and blue toning. It is also a Perfect Date variety, while all 1867 proof dimes have a Repunched Date. This example is Fortin-102 with minute die doubling at the right side of the reverse. The mirrored surfaces are probably a result of die polishing to remove clash marks. Population: 2 in 67, 0 finer (8/10).
