1869 Seated Dime, MS67
Sole CAC Coin in This Grade

1869 10C MS67 PCGS. CAC. Fortin-105. Beautifully toned in shades of gray and lavender on the obverse and gray, steel-blue, and lavender on the reverse, accented with a slice of soft ice-blue along the left margin. Sharply struck devices and impeccably preserved surfaces round out the outstanding eye appeal.

Variety: Fortin-105, R.3, struck from proof dies.

Population (3/15): PCGS and NGC each report four pieces in MS67 and none finer. This MS67 PCGS coin is the sole example in this grade with the green CAC endorsement.

Heritage Commentary: Seated dime author Brian Greer wrote in his series reference, " ... this date is scarcer than its mintage (256,000 pieces) implies. Quite scarce in mint state."

Consignor Commentary: The many beautiful colors are quite attractive. Greer (1992) rates the coin a Low R.6 in Mint State.
