Description

1871 Dime, MS66
Among the Finest Survivors

1871 10C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Fortin-102a, R.3. The variety is attributed by a level date and a die crack that extends from the bottoms of the ribbons to the right (facing) wreath. Pearl-gray iridescence occasionally cedes to cobalt-blue and olive-green toning, the latter color palette showing more presence on the reverse. This softly frosted, well-struck Premium Gem has undisturbed fields and impressive eye appeal. More than 900,000 coins were minted, yet this example is tied for finest with just seven others at PCGS (3/15).
