Description
Choice VF 1871-CC Dime
Very Scarce in Any Grade
1871-CC 10C VF35 PCGS. In The Mint on Carson Street,
Rusty Goe estimates that just 50 to 100 1871-CC dimes survive in
any condition and states that "the lucky collector who finds a
problem free circulated piece has found a true treasure." This
midrange representative certainly puts the "Choice" in "Choice Very
Fine," thanks to exceptionally smooth surfaces toned blue, violet,
gold, and light gray. Wear appears mostly on the devices, and the
fields remain faintly luminous. An excellent opportunity for the
knowledgeable Carson City enthusiast. Population: 3 in 35, 12 finer
(11/11).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23A5, PCGS# 4654, GSID# 4120)
