Description
1872 Seated Dime, MS66+
Rare This Fine
1872 10C MS66+ NGC. Fortin-102, R.2. The Plus designation
draws attention to this coin's excellent preservation -- only a few
tiny ticks on Liberty's thighs limit the grade. The surfaces yield
soft, satiny luster with brilliant centers and deeper lavender-gold
hues around the peripheries. The boldly struck design elements
complete the eye appeal. What appear to be misplaced date numerals
are visible in the gown to the right of the scroll end. Census: 6
in 66 (2 in 66+), 2 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23A7, PCGS# 4656, Greysheet# 4065)
Weight: 2.49 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
