Description
Semi-Prooflike MS63 1872-S Dime
1872-S 10C MS63 NGC. Much scarcer than the mintage of 190,000 pieces suggests. This is a lovely Mint State coin that shows the usual bright, semi-prooflike fields and die cracks at the top of the date and from the base of the rock to the U. Sharply struck, which is unusual for the issue, the obverse is generally untoned in the center with golden-brown and blue peripheral toning with deep, multicolored toning over the entire reverse. Census: 3 in 63, 1 finer (10/07).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23A9, PCGS# 4658, Greysheet# 4123)
Weight: 2.49 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
