Description
1872-S Seated Dime, MS64
Conditionally Rare
1872-S 10C MS64 PCGS. CAC. Gerry Fortin identifies just one
die variety for the date, with a small and squared (block)
mintmark. This scarce date is a condition rarity that is elusive in
Mint State grades. PCGS has only graded 16 pieces in MS60 or finer
grades. A Choice Mint State specimen, this example has satiny
silver luster with a trace of blue and gold on the obverse, and
similar toning over much of the reverse. Population: 6 in 64, 2
finer (3/13).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23A9, PCGS# 4658, Greysheet# 4123)
Weight: 2.49 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
