Description

1873 Arrows Dime, MS65
Lustrous, Near-Brilliant Surfaces
Ex: Gardner

1873 10C Arrows, F-112, R.4, MS65 PCGS. The left and right arrows flanking the date signify an insignificant weight increase intended to make the specifications conform to the metric system. Fortin-112 is rated R.4, scarcer than most other varieties for the date, and should command a premium between 50% and 100%. Light apricot toning drapes the borders of this lustrous, mostly brilliant type coin. The otherwise crisp strike shows trivial softness on Liberty's head and the upper left wheat sheaf. Lovely eye appeal despite a few minor field marks. Population: 15 in 65 (2 in 65+), 5 finer (5/16).
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2007), lot 2584; Eugene H. Gardner Collection, Part IV (Heritage, 10/2015), lot 98280.
