Description
Key Date 1873-CC Dime, AU50
Second-Finest Example at PCGS
1873-CC 10C Arrows AU50 PCGS. This issue had a tiny mintage
of 18,791 pieces, making it a key date in the series, especially
when its low survival rate is figured in. Examples, when seen, are
usually in lower circulated grades ranging from About Good to Very
Fine. This conditionally rare piece is one of the two finest-graded
examples at PCGS, with a single coin graded higher as a Gem (6/08).
This specimen is smooth and evenly worn, with a pleasing layer of
original olive and sea-green coloration across both sides. A couple
of shallow marks are noted immediately behind Liberty's head. A
tremendous opportunity for the specialist in Carson City coinage,
or in the Seated dime series. (Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23BH, PCGS# 4666, Greysheet# 4125)
