Description

Important VF25 1873-CC Arrows Dime

1873-CC 10C Arrows VF25 PCGS. The 1873-CC Arrows dime has long been considered a series key, and ownership of any example is a mark of distinction among Seated dime collectors. Its stated mintage of nearly 19,000 pieces must be taken with a grain of salt, since this issue has one of the lowest survival rates of any Carson City issue. The present mid-range example, though it would miss most Condition Census lists, offers solid eye appeal for the grade. All letters in LIBERTY are bold, though the head lacks detail, and the violet-tinged silver-blue surfaces are smooth and largely mark-free. Population: 2 in 25, 14 finer (10/08).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23BH, PCGS# 4666, Greysheet# 4125)

Weight: 2.49 grams
