Description

1873-CC Arrows Dime, VF35
Elusive Key Seated Liberty Issue

1873-CC 10C Arrows VF35 PCGS. This 1873-CC Arrows dime is definitely in the top half of the surviving population, as the typically found example, even when certified, is apt to grade somewhere in the range from Fair to no more than VF20. The present Choice VF piece is surpassed at PCGS by only 10 certified pieces ranging from XF40 to AU53, and by only a single additional coin in Mint State, at MS65. Some minor pitting appears on each side, but the grade-limiting factor appears to be simple wear, with a few ticks on the figure of Liberty. A real prize for Seated Liberty dime collectors, and one of the most elusive issues of the entire series. Population: 8 in 35, 11 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23BH, PCGS# 4666, Greysheet# 4125)

Weight: 2.49 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
