Mintmark Below Bow, Finest Certified

1875-CC 10C Mintmark Below Bow, F-106a, R.4, MS66 PCGS. Fortin-106a shows a spindly crack through (AMERI)CA and die two die cracks through the lower left and lower right portion of the wreath. Gerry Fortin mentions a cud below the mintmark on this later die state, but no such cud is present on this magnificent target-toned Premium Gem. The obverse displays concentric rings of rainbow toning, ceding to brilliant centers. Similar tones color the reverse periphery. The right ear of corn has complete kernel definition. A finer 1875-CC Mintmark Below Bow dime has not been seen by either of the leading grading companies. Population: 2 in 66, 0 finer (6/17).
