Description

1875-CC Mintmark Below Bow Dime, MS65
A More Elusive Variant

1875-CC 10C Mintmark Below Bow MS65 PCGS. The Mintmark Below variant is more elusive than the Mintmark Above, evidenced by the larger number of the former certified by PCGS (102 vs. 276 examples in all grades). Frosty silver-gray surfaces exhibit delicate tan accents around the borders, slightly more extensive on the obverse. The devices are well-struck. A few minute marks in the fields below the ME in AMERICA will help to identify the coin. Population: 10 in 65, 1 finer (4/14).
