Description

Satiny Gem 1875-CC Dime, Mintmark Below Bow

1875-CC 10C Mintmark Below Bow MS65 PCGS. The first of the common Carson City dime issues of the mid-1870s, the 1875-CC dime is divided into two obvious varieties, determined by the location of the mintmark. The Mintmark Below Bow variety is the scarcer of the two, and this coin is an outstanding example, bathed in heavy satin luster beneath variable antique silver color. The strike is sharp, with weakness seemingly being limited to the high points of the upper left wreath. Census: 7 in 65, 1 finer (12/07).(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23AD, PCGS# 4674, Greysheet# 4130)
