1878-CC 10C MS65 ★ NGC. Type One Reverse. Fortin-101. The E's in ONE DIME appear die-doubled. Decidedly prooflike, with flashy fields and frosted devices. Undoubtedly, the field reflectivity coaxed the elusive Star designation from NGC. A sharply struck and exceptionally clean Gem with faint gold toning. Census: two in 65 , one finer with a Star designation (5/09).(Registry values: N2998)
