1879 Seated Dime, MS68
Colorful Border Toning, CAC Endorsed
1879 10C F-102a, R.4, MS68 PCGS. CAC. Only eight MS68
examples exist at PCGS and NGC combined -- several of which are
blizzard-white coins. While superior technical quality is a given
at this high grade, the few examples with original color capture
the eye. This CAC-endorsed Superb Gem displays delightful blue and
violet border toning surrounding flashy gold and vibrant silver
interiors. Seemingly flawless fields are well-mirrored, with only a
thin overlay of obverse frost to argue against a prooflike
designation. The strike is pinpoint-sharp, showing several
meandering die lines within the lower-left wreath to confirm the
Fortin-102a variety. PCGS Population: 3 in 68 (1 in 68+), 0 finer.
