Description
Superb Gem 1879 Seated Dime
1879 10C MS67 NGC. First year of reduced production of subsidiary silver coinage, only 14,000 business strikes were minted this year. This piece is extraordinary. The striking details are nearly complete, save for a bit of detail at the top of the obverse. The fields show a mixture of cartwheel luster and semi-prooflikeness. The surfaces are nearly perfect with the only flaws being a couple of microscopic abrasions in the right obverse field. A peripheral ring of golden-brown, lilac, and sea-green lends originality to each side. Superb quality. Population: 26 in 67, 3 finer (9/04).(#4687) (Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23AS, PCGS# 4687, GSID# 4075)
