Description

1886 Seated Dime, MS67+
Glowing, Delicately Toned Surfaces

1886 10C MS67+ NGC. Fortin-103a, R.2. This die pair was previously used for proof coinage, and some early circulation strikes show prooflike fields. This Plus-graded Superb Gem circulation issue is from a late die state, with numerous peripheral die cracks, primarily on the reverse, and radiant, satiny luster over each side. The obverse displays luminescent sky-blue, lavender, and mint-gold toning, while the reverse shows similar hues around the peripheries with lighter champagne color in the central regions. The strike is just a trifle soft on the upper-left portion of the wreath. Census: 12 in 67 (1 in 67+, 1 in 67 ), 0 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N2998)
