Broadstruck Near-Mint 1887-S Dime
1887-S 10C --Broadstruck--AU58 NGC. An uncentered broadstrike with a peripheral arc of unstruck surface that is widest at 1 o'clock. The collar die was blocked or jammed when the present near-Mint dime was struck. Typical of a broadstrike, the centers are intricately impressed, and the legends near the border show evidence of metal flow toward the rim. Toned in rich lavender, olive, and brown shades. The surfaces are smooth and partly lustrous.From The Bob Simpson Collection of Seated Dimes.
