    Description

    Satiny MS61 1860-S Dime

1860-S 10C MS61 NGC. The final Stars issue of the series, the San Francisco Mint used the obsolete design instead of the Legend Obverse, presumably due to the geographic distance between the two coasts. Just 140,000 pieces were struck, and despite the relatively low face value, Mint State survivors are very rare. This satiny example is lightly toned, and contact marks are surprisingly few for the grade. Census: 3 in 61, 4 finer (10/07).(Registry values: N1793)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2397, PCGS# 4622)

    Weight: 2.49 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
