    Description

    1863 Dime, Toned PR67
    Only 460 Proofs Struck

1863 10C F-101, R.4, PR67 NGC. One of only 460 proofs, the 1863 date has the lowest proof mintage of all Legend Obverse dimes. Few specimens are as well-preserved as the piece offered here. NGC has certified only four other PR67 coins, and three pieces grade higher; PCGS has seen no 1863 Proofs above the PR66 level (1/20). This Superb Gem is sharply struck with golden-gray centers accented by cobalt-blue and lilac colors around the peripheries, especially on the obverse. The frosted design elements are sharply struck throughout, and offer significant contrast against the deeply mirrored fields. The surfaces show no mentionable marks. (NGC ID# 23BS, Variety PCGS# 539011, Base PCGS# 4756)
