pair was also used to coin business strikes, though this Premium
Gem is undoubtedly a proof. It features an upward-sloping date and
a raised lump between shield stripes 6 and 7. The 1866 (8,000
circulation strikes) is a scarce issue, putting added date pressure
on proofs (725 pieces minted). This Premium Gem showcases
remarkable field-device contrast and pristine untoned surfaces
