Description

1841 Seated Dollar, MS62
Scarce in Mint Condition

1841 $1 MS62 NGC. CAC. The 1841 Seated dollar had a substantial mintage of 173,000 pieces, but almost the entire mintage entered circulation. As a result, today this date is relatively common in circulated grades but is seldom found in mint condition. This piece displays deep, richly variegated toning over each side with the semireflective fields seen on most dollars from the 1840s and 1850s. The strike shows slight high point softness on both obverse and reverse. The only marks of any consequence are on the lower reverse. Census: 19 in 62, 10 finer (7/10).(Registry values: N2998)
