Description

1841 Seated Dollar, MS62
Attractive Example; Second Year of Issue

1841 $1 MS62 PCGS. CAC. OC-4, R.1. Osburn-Cushing Die State d/b. The obverse contains hues of purple, russet, and electric-blue, where the reverse is dominated by the russet shade. A few errant marks are hardly noticeable, and the strike fully impressed all details, creating a confluence of factors that culminated in a CAC sticker. The 1841 was the second year of issue for the Liberty Seated dollar design, which represented the first dollar-denominated coins made by the Mint since 1803, excluding any complications from the enigmatic Gobrecht dollar series.(Registry values: N2998)
