1842 $1 MS64 PCGS. OC-3, R.2. A semiprooflike near-Gem that
boasts frosty devices and moderately reflective fields. The strike
shows incompleteness on the top of the left (facing) wing, but the
remainder of the coin is solidly struck. The essentially brilliant
surfaces show only minimal signs of contact. No Gems have been
certified by either NGC or PCGS, yet the coin remains affordable at
the MS64 level. Population: 20 in 64 (3 in 64+), 0 finer
