Description

1845 Seated Dollar, AU58
Conditionally Scarce Issue

1845 $1 AU58 PCGS. With a mintage of only 24,500 pieces, the 1845 has always been in the forefront of dates from this series that are high on collectors' want lists. It is a major rarity in mint condition, but not so difficult in circulated grades. However, a borderline Uncirculated piece, such as this one, is a rare and highly collectible coin. The fields show the usual bright semireflectivity one would expect, and each side has an even layer of gray patina with numerous, small specks scattered about. The striking details are a bit soft and there are no mentionable abrasions. Population: 6 in 58, 13 finer (8/10).(Registry values: N991)
