Description

1846 Silver Dollar, MS63
Sharp and Original

1846 $1 MS63 PCGS. CAC. Reflective surfaces are muted by the thick, medium-gray toning that glows with orange and blue highlights fueled by substantial mint luster. The strike is bold but not full, with slight blending of Liberty's hair strands, the eagle's leg feathers, and the talon details. No repunching is visible on the date, unlike many of the issue. An attractive Select Uncirculated example, challenging in this grade and quite scarce any finer. Population: 14 in 63, 23 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24YG, PCGS# 6932, Greysheet# 7196)
