Description

Splendid 1846-O Seated Dollar, AU58

1846-O $1 AU58 NGC. The first New Orleans Mint silver dollar, the 1846-O had a mintage of 59,000 coins, sufficient that enough have survived to meet the demands of collectors. However, the mintage was also small enough that there is clearly no surplus of pieces on the market. This piece has considerable silver luster with light gray toning over satiny surfaces. Census: 29 in 58, 21 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N1793)
