Description

1846-O Seated Liberty Dollar, MS62
Rarely Seen Finer

1846-O $1 MS62 PCGS. OC-1, R.2. Osburn-Cushing Die State b/d, with die cracks through many obverse stars and a reverse crack from the left wing to the middle of U in UNITED. From a mintage of 59,000 pieces, the 1846-O Seated Liberty dollar is surprisingly difficult to locate in high grade. This attractive MS62 example exhibits well-detailed design elements, with a touch of the typical softness on the obverse stars. The lightly marked surfaces are blanketed in shades of cerulean-blue, magenta, and lavender-gray toning, with satiny mint luster underneath. Population: 11 in 62 (1 in 62+), 12 finer (10/19).(Registry values: N4719)
