Description

Elusive 1849 Seated Dollar, MS62

1849 $1 MS62 PCGS. Among Seated dollars from the 1840s, the 1849 has the third highest Mint State population but it is still elusive. The 1842 and 1846 issues rank one and two for the higher Mint State populations, yet the total PCGS population in MS60 and finer grades is less than 100 coins for every date. This remarkable and fully brilliant piece has satiny luster with slightly reflective fields, considerable cameo contrast, and bold design motifs. Population: 7 in 62, 27 finer (6/09).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24YL, PCGS# 6936, Greysheet# 7199)

Weight: 26.73 grams
