    Description

    1850 Silver Dollar, AU55
    Low-Mintage Issue

1850 $1 AU55 PCGS. OC-1, R.3. The Philadelphia Mint coined a mere 7,500 silver dollars in 1850, the first of several low-mintage issues through much of the decade. This Choice AU example has a tinge of violet toning along the left obverse border, while the balance of the obverse and all of the reverse are untoned light silver. Scattered marks are evident on both sides, but are undistracting. This piece is finer than the average certified piece that grades just over AU50.
