    Description

    1850 Seated Dollar, AU55
    Just 7,500 Pieces Struck

1850 $1 AU55 PCGS. Scarce in all grades, the 1850 Seated dollar was minted in small quantity (just 7,500 pieces struck) and the emerging imbalance of silver-to-gold value caused many pieces to be melted. This Choice About Uncirculated example retains some deep-blue border toning surrounding untoned, lightly abraded central fields and devices. Glimpses of the original prooflike surfaces remain. A small rim mark at 7 o'clock on the reverse is noted. Population: 40 in 55, 56 finer (11/15).(Registry values: N1793)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24YM, PCGS# 6937)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
