Description

1850-O Seated Dollar, AU58
Very Scarce New Orleans Issue

1850-O $1 AU58 NGC. The 1850-O has the lowest mintage among the four O-mint Seated dollar issues, only 40,000 coins. Mint State examples are extremely elusive, and even high-grade circulated coins such as the present piece appear seldom at auction. This piece has nearly full luster remaining over silver-gray surfaces, with glints of rose scattered near the rims on each side. Contact is minor, save for a small patch of marks in the right obverse field. Census: 17 in 58, 14 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
