Description

1855 Seated Liberty Dollar, AU50
Low-Mintage Issue

1855 $1 AU50 PCGS. A meager mintage of 26,000 Seated Liberty silver dollars was accomplished in 1855. The issue was largely used in foreign trade, and survivors in AU grades are quite scarce today. The present coin is an attractive specimen, with light wear showing on Liberty's knee and the eagle's head and wing. The surfaces are lightly abraded, and wisps of gold toning highlight both sides. Population: 15 in 50, 57 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
