1857 $1 MS64 NGC. This near-Gem yields a partially prooflike appearance and is splashed with reddish-brown, purple, and sky-blue patina. Most of the design elements are well struck, though Liberty's head and the adjacent stars are weak, as typically seen. Occasional small marks deny Gem classification.
