Elusive 1859 Seated Dollar, MS63
Seldom Seen Finer
1859 $1 MS63 NGC. This Seated dollar issue is seldom seen in
higher Mint State levels, as most of the business strikes were
exported to China. The present Select example displays minor ticks
and hairlines in the fields that account for the grade. The eye
appeal is nonetheless quite high, with reflective silver-gold
surfaces that are somewhat prooflike and well-struck overall. The
reverse is choice for the grade. Census: 9 in 63, 16 finer
