Description

Scarce 1859 Seated Dollar, MS63

1859 $1 MS63 PCGS. The 1859 Seated dollar had a relatively plentiful mintage of more than a quarter-million pieces, but it is scarcer than that figure might imply and grows conditionally rarer in the higher Mint State grades. This piece shows a pinkish-gold-tinged reverse, with a color-free obverse wedge complementing a larger area of deeper lilac and mauve. A few minor high-point abrasions are in keeping with the Select grade. Population: 15 in 63, 7 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)
