Richly Toned Choice Mint State
1859 Seated Dollar
1859 $1 MS64 NGC. At certain angles to the light, this
pre-Civil War Seated dollar takes on a semiprooflike and contrasted
appearance. Well-struck central devices have a frosty character and
the fields are reflective. A rich blanket of gold, orange, and
blue-violet drapes the whole, while the fields show a curious mix
of lint marks and small abrasions. Census: 16 in 64, 0 finer
