Rare Mint State 1859-S Seated Dollar, MS61
1859-S $1 MS61 NGC. Minted primarily for foreign trade, only 20,000 Seated Liberty silver dollars were coined at the San Francisco Mint in 1859. The issue is quite rare in Mint State, as virtually all examples were shipped to the Far East at the time of production. The present coin is well struck and attractively toned in mingled shades of green, lavender, and gray.
