Description

Solid Gem Quality 1860-O Seated Dollar

1860-O MS 65 NGC. When held beneath a light, the mint luster shimmers and races around the coin unimpeded by any significant abrasions, the surfaces are only subdued by the thick patination when viewed away from a light source. Each side has an overlay of hazy gray patina with colorful undertones of lilac and golden. Sharply (but not fully) struck, the only marks we can find on this piece are several tiny abrasions in the upper reverse field above the eagle's head. Exceptionally clean and problem-free, one of the finest examples known for the issue.
