Scarce Civil War Issue

1864 $1 AU55 NGC. A tiny mintage of 30,700 Seated Liberty dollars was accomplished at the Philadelphia Mint in 1864, mostly used for foreign trade purposes. Even in higher circulated grades, the issue is rare today. The present coin is an attractive Choice AU specimen, with silver-gray and steel-blue surfaces, and sharply detailed design elements.
