Mint State 1864 Liberty Seated Dollar
Low-Mintage Civil War Issue
1864 $1 MS61 NGC. This mid-Civil War issue is seldom seen in
Mint State, attributable in part to the meager mintage of only
30,700 business strikes. This Mint State piece shows a few
scattered grade-determining contact marks and ticks, all the
apparent result of coin-to-coin contact rather than circulation, as
there is no high-point wear and the luster is complete. Streaky
patina ranges from brilliant silver through copper into
