Description

1864 $1 XF45 NGC. Though years of evidence showed that the pieces were often simply remelted and sold as bullion, Philadelphia persisted in striking silver dollars, including 30,700 of the coins in 1864. This modestly abraded example displays light, even wear across the well struck devices and pale silver-gray fields. Census: 9 in 45, 40 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N991)
