Description

Appealing 1866 With Motto Dollar, MS64

1866 $1 Motto MS64 PCGS. CAC. This is the first year that the motto IN GOD WE TRUST appeared on the Seated Liberty dollar. Partially prooflike fields offset the devices, and a mix of orange-gold, violet, cobalt-blue, yellow-gold, and golden-brown visits both sides. Typically struck, in that Liberty's hair and the star centers are weak. The reverse is sharply impressed. All in all, a highly appealing coin. Population: 16 in 64, 8 finer (2/09).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24Z9, PCGS# 6959, Greysheet# 7215)
